Bigger Screen

Size matters and the iPhone is starting to look down right puny next to its competitors. Look for a bump up to at least a 5 inch screen with a leap to 6 inches entirely possible.

Infrared Blaster

Like the Galaxy S4, this would turn your phone into a universal remote.

Wi-Fi 802.11AC

The new Wi-Fi standard is set to be approved by the IEEE early next year. It is faster, increases the range as well as implements new security standards. The Galaxy S4 already support it.

128 GB

The iPhone 5s hits a ceiling of 64GB of hard drive space. Flash memory wafers are currently under development to fit a hulking 128GB drive into this slim packaging economically.

More Megapixels

So far Apple has shied away from the megapixel war, holding fast at 8 MP on the iPhone 5s. Apple may be bowing under the pressure to beef up its camera to 12 MP in the iPhone 6.

Better Camera Sensor

The iPhone 5s  improved the camera design with a 15% larger sensor, but the Sony Xperia still eats its lunch with a 1/2.3f sized sensor. Apple should match this capability.

NFC

NFC is a wireless communications standard that allows two devices to talk to another over short distances. Imagine buying a cup of coffee in Starbucks with the swipe of your phone or instantly swapping data between phones is la the risque video swap in Samsung S3 commercial.

Water Proofing

Samsung Galaxy S4 and Sony Xperia Z already come equipped with a rain coat so why doesn't the iPhone? Its sleek design is probably to blame. If those clever designers at Apple can figure out how to protect the headphone jack and Lightning port then daily accidents may become a thing of the past.
